Badges and Banners

Today I have a fun card to share that came about very much by accident!  Last weekend I helped out at the Create with Connie and Mary LIVE Event.  I had SO MUCH FUN!  We had a room full of stampers (nice to see you all!) and lots of fabulous projects to work on.  Needless to say, I couldn’t sit and stamp for any length of time….I was too excited!  So I brought home bits and pieces of all the gorgeous projects.  Today I finally had a chance to sit and make a card featuring BADGES AND BANNERS.

Isn’t this fun!  I have to admit that this wasn’t on my list of things to get, BUT now it is!  I really like the badge punch and this set now that I’ve worked with it a little.

Badges and Banners

Love the clean and simple look of this card with a little bit of gold accent.  The badges look great layered as well.  The coral really pops against the blue.

I have quite a few  more bits and pieces to play with, so I share more soon.  You should definitely stop back tomorrow to see the GORGEOUS thank you gift that Connie and Mary gave me for helping out.  You will LOVE IT!

Welcome to the 2nd COLOR FUSE BLOG HOP!  Twice a month on the first and third Monday’s we’ll be bringing you inspiration through color!  July’s hops will feature three gorgeous In Colors.

Color Fuse July Logo

I almost went with a floral card, but I wanted to try using these colors in a different way.

Balloon Celebration by becreativewithnicole.com

I haven’t used BALLOON CELEBRATION much and it was calling out to me, so I gave it a try in a clean and simple way.

Balloon Celebration becreativewithnicole

I used bold black and white striped paper for a pop against the Peekaboo Peach card base.  The balloons are done with Flirty Flamingo with the black outline making them stand out nicely.  My favorite little detail though, is the pop of Cucumber Crush in the sentiment.  I love that unexpected bit of color at the end.

Color Fuse Blog Hop: July 2016 – Part 1

Welcome to the first week of the COLOR FUSE BLOG HOP!  Twice a month on the first and third Monday’s we’ll be bringing you inspiration through color!  July’s hops will feature three gorgeous In Colors.

Color Fuse July

I am hooked on making little pouches with the ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD so I thought it would be fun to make one for today.

Banners for You becreativewithnicole.com

This sweet little card was created from a little bit of this and a little bit of that!  My inspiration came from the BANNERS FOR YOU Bundle.   I really love the banners, so useful in so many ways!  It made a great focal point and sentiment for the center of my envelope pouch.

Banners For You Card becreativewithnicole.com

I did a breakdown of all the products used in the picture above, these are all favorites of mine!  Like I’ve said before, I use all Stampin’ Up! products because of the cohesion.  All the colors, stamps and accessories all blend beautifully together.

Banners for YOu by becreativewithnicole.com

Let’s go back to the pouch for a second.  It’s just like the one I shared HERE that was a seed packet holder.  I used KRAFT CARDSTOCK  measuring 6″ x 6″ and followed the directions on the ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD scoring and punching beginning on the 3″ line.  The card insert measures in at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.  I added a bit of the fun new Ruched Ribbon in Flirty Flamingo to pull the card from the pouch.

I hope you enjoyed today’s bit of inspiration!  This ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD pouch can be turned into anything you like!  Just sit down with some of your favorite products and let the creativity begin!  Speaking of creativity, let’s move on to the rest of the Color Fuse Design Team and see what awesomeness they have for us today!  Just follow the links below and enjoy all the inspiration!

Botanical Builder

I normally stick to a collection of my favorite colors for card making.  For today’s card, I used a color that I rarely touch…Night of Navy.

rose wonder navy card becreativewithnicole

Isn’t Night of Navy pretty when paired with Blushing Bride!  I started out knowing I wanted something a bit different so I also included an embossing folder that I rarely use, BOHO CHIC.  I like the texture plus it gives the card a lot more interest!  But there’s still more, this isn’t a typical card…….

Navy Rose Wonder becreativewithnicole

It’s an easel card!  I love how easy these cards are to make yet they have a terrific WOW factor.  A small flower stamped and a punched flower make a simple holder to make the front of the card stand.

Botanical builder flowers

The flowers are all built from BOTANICAL BUILDERS and the ITTY BITTY ACCENTS PUNCH PACK.  I also threw in a couple of leaves from the ROSE GARDEN THINLITS.  Using a couple shades of green, Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive, gives more depth.  The sentiment is pulled from ROSE WONDER the set that coordinates with the ROSE GARDEN THINLITS.  I really like the contrast of the Blushing Bride frame and Old Olive sentiment.

I hope you will venture out of your comfort zone like I did today, I think you’ll be surprised with your creation!

Number of Years

My little guy just turned 3 years old yesterday, so I have a fun post for you today.  I made a couple of birthday cards with NUMBER OF YEARS and show how adding just a few extra details really makes a difference!

Number of Years becreativewithicole

I started out with the simple card shown at the top.  I like the way it turned out, but it could use a little something more.

Number of Years simple becreativewithnicole

I love all the color on the card and the balloons give a fun whimsical feel.  This would be a great design for making a card quickly when you don’t have time for more detail.

Number of years stepped up becreativewithnicole

In this second card, you can see a more finished look by adding a couple of extra details.  I added a little extra pop of color by adding a Crushed Curry matting under the designer paper and the white circle.

Number of Years

I also added more color by using GORGEOUS GRUNGE to add a splash of Pool Party ink behind the number 3.  This is actually my favorite detail, it really made a big difference with just a small addition of color.  Lastly, I added color to the balloons.  I stamped the speckles on each balloon which took them to the next level.

Here’s my little guy getting ready to blow out the candles,he loved celebrating his birthday. In fact, he loved blowing out the candles so much we re-lit them three times!

Samuel

What do you think about the versions of this card, do like the stepped up one better too??

SpringBlogHopBadge

I don’t know about you, but I am SO.READY.FOR.SPRING!  And with Easter being early this year at the end of March, I really have spring fever right now!!  So I went with lots of pastels for today and a super cute PLAYFUL PALS bunny.

Playful Pals Easter becreativewithnicole

Isn’t this just too stinkin’ cute!!!  I saw this Easter egg idea on Pinterest and knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a bunny.

Playful Pals becreativewithnicole.com

I die cut an oval from Whisper White to place over four layers of color stamped with the large watercolor stamp in WORK OF ART.  The bunny is layered over top and then lots of little flowers and the sentiment are next.  To get this unique sentiment, I used a most handy tool, the ALPHABET ROTARY STAMP.  I love having this around for occasions such as this where the sentiment I need doesn’t exist in the catalog…..a real must have!

Puppy Love

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week the theme is Love is in the Air….so we are featuring VALENTINES!

I had so many favorites in the new Occasions Catalog that Valentine type sets took a backseat.  So….I made a Valentine with what I had and I think it’s just super cute!

Playful Pals becreativewithnicole.com

Isn’t this Valentine puppy so sweet!  I have always been a big fan of pink and chocolate so those colors jumped into my head right away!

Playful Pal

The puppy’s “fur” is a design from the beautiful LOVE BLOSSOMS Designer Paper Stack on page 17.  It’s intended to coordinate with the Bloomin’ Love Bundle, but the paper is so beautiful it can be used with just about anything!  This particular design was simply perfect for my pink and chocolate puppy!

Playful Pals by becreativewithnicole.com

I brought in pink with the sponged hearts created with a decorative mask.  They give a nice subtle background and a real Valentine feel to the card.  My biggest dilemma with not getting a Valentine set was what sentiment to use.  But that ended up being an easy thing to solve!  I looked through my stamps and found the wonderful sentiment “Love You” in the versatile set FRIENDLY WISHES in the main catalog.

This turned out so sweet, it’s just another great reason to get the PLAYFUL PALS Bundle…very versatile!

Now for the nitty gritty….the SUPPLY LIST!

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring SALE-A-BRATION products!

The SKY IS THE LIMIT stamp set was sitting on my desk, so I used it for today with a clean and simple design.

Congratulations my friend becreativewithnicole

Isn’t this the perfect example of a crisp and clean card!  Lots of white with a thick white card base and a layer of Whisper White popped up on dimensionals.

congratulations

I punched a couple of clouds with the TREE BUILDER PUNCH and the new PERFECTLY ARTISTIC designer paper in the Sale-a-bration catalog. It’s a set of beautiful marbled watercolor-like papers that are just gorgeous…a real must have!  I also snuck in a sentiment from another SAB set called HELLO.  The “congratulations” came from SKY IS THE LIMIT then I added in “my friend” from HELLO…..they work perfectly together!
