Cookie Cutter Halloween

I got a chance to sit down and do a little playing with the fun COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN stamp set.  Love how versatile they made the COOKIE CUTTER BUILDER PUNCH by creating TWO stamp sets that coordinate!

cookie-cutter-halloween-becreativewithnicole-com

When I started making this card I had a different idea in mind and it morphed into what you see, which I love even better than my original thought.  Don’t you just love when creativity just takes over and leads you into a new direction!

cookie-cutter-skeleton

It all started out with a splash of Elegant Eggplant ink using a stamp from GORGEOUS GRUNGE.  I added in a brick wall using the HALLOWEEN NIGHT SPECIALTY DSP and the rest just fell into place.  A few elements were taken from SPOOKY FUN.  I love all the little stamps in that set that work for so many things.  I used the pumpkins, spider web and spider plus the greeting.  Really, I used more from SPOOKY FUN than I did COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN.  That set just provided the super cute skeleton and his Elegant Eggplant bow tie.cookie-cutter-halloween-becreativewithnicole-comTomorrow I have another fun idea with SPOOKY FUN to share for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop.  Don’t forget to subscribe to the October Mini Session, it goes live on the 11th!

Live Love Grow

Clean and simple cards are such a joy to create!  A nice white card with a crisp design makes me so happy!  The sweet set LIVE,LOVE,GROW is so perfect for this style of card making.

Live Love Grow by becreativewithnicole.com

See what I mean, a bright crisp card is good stuff!  I found my inspiration from sketch challenge FMS249 at Freshly Made Sketches.  This was such a fun sketch to work with, you can really use your imagination with this one!

FMS249

live love grow becreativewithnicole

It all started with SERENE SCENERY Designer Paper Stack.  I used the design that looks like wood flooring as my background strip.  The sentiment embossed in white on black really pops against this lighter color of DSP.  The embossed words were created with the awesome new set LABELER ALPHABET.  I love that there are two styles of alphabet to work with.  I was able to lay out the letters and stamp it all at once, super easy!

Live Love Grow by becreativewithnicole.com

That’s it for me today!  Give this crisp clean look a try, I know you’ll love it!

Sweet Cupcake

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring our favorite new stamp set from the new catalog.

The SWEET CUPCAKE BUNDLE was the first thing on my wish list after seeing the new catalog.  I simply love the realistic look of these yummy cupcakes!  And with the bundle you get coordinating framelits so no fussy cutting!

Sweet Cupcake becreativewithnicole.com

The biggest thing to decide when creating these cupcakes was the colors.  You want three distinct layers of color for both the icing and cupcake.

Sweet Cupcake

This cupcake is chocolate, so I layered Sahara Sand, Tip top Taupe and Soft Suede.  For a fun yummy frosting I went with Soft Sky, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.  All of these colors are favorites for me, especially Bermuda Bay.

Sweet Cupcake by becreativewithnicole.com

To go along with the chocolate cupcake, I went with a Soft Suede card base and a gorgeous gold polka dot paper.  I got the gold polka dots from the beautiful POP OF PINK SPECIALTY DSP.  This is such a a fabulous paper that I didn’t add any other bling, although I did test out Bermuda Bay Sequins…it was just better without.  Sometimes less is definitely more!  Speaking of MORE, have you subscribed to the July Mini Session yet??  If you haven’t you are missing out!

Tiny Treat Box

Today I’m going 3D with a fun little TINY TREAT BOX.  You can find these great little boxes on page 176 of the new catalog, 16 boxes for just $7.50!  What a great way to give a little party favor or treat!

Party Favor becreativewithnicole.com

Isn’t this super cute!!  All you need is a little designer paper and a sentiment.  I also have a bow on the top, it really adds a special touch.

Party Favor by becreativewithnicole

This particular box was designed by my awesome upline Patty Bennett.  Over the weekend she did a group meeting on Facebook and this was one of the projects we made.  I love the bright colors of the FESTIVE BIRTHDAY DSP.  All the pieces of the box were sent to me, I just had to add a sentiment and assemble.  What a fun treat for me to just put a project together without having to think too much!  I added in a sentiment from SUNBURST SAYINGS.  I loved “It’s Your Day” for this box, but the sentiment is straight and I had a curved banner to work with.  So guess what, I bent the sentiment just enough to fit!  It’s not photopolymer, but I was able to get it to work!

bent stamp

The stamp didn’t want to bend much or stay in place long, but I got it fixed long enough to make it work!

Party Favor becreativewithnicole.com

I’m so glad I got a chance to try out the CLEAR TINY TREAT BOX, it will be on my next order for sure!

A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring our favorite new designer series paper from the catalog.

Designer Series Paper is a favorite product of mine, so many great patterns to choose from.  It’s an easy way to add color and dress up your cards or projects.  So far, I think that A LITTLE FOXY DSP is my favorite.  But since I go through phases of favorites, that can change tomorrow!  But for now, A LITTLE FOXY and the coordinating stamp set FOXY FRIENDS are on my desk all the time.

Foxy Friends becreativewithnicole.com

The colors in this collection of papers are GORGEOUS!  I especially love stripes right now, so I used that particular paper for my card today.

Foxy Friends

The striped paper provides a fabulous background for my card.  It gives interest without being too overwhelming.  I added in the banners from another design of the DSP, I just fussy cut enough of the banners to go across the top of the card.  You’ll notice that I added in a couple other stamp sets as well.  They just coordinated so well with this card, I had to!  Love all the birthday sets available and how well they all work together! BALLOON CELEBRATION was a perfect addition for the fox to hold a sweet balloon.  And NUMBER OF YEARS provided a fabulous sentiment.  Both the balloon and sentiment were heat embossed to stand out and give a little texture to the card.

Foxy Friends becreativewithnicole.com

Did you know that I used this fabulous stamp set FOXY FRIENDS for my tutorial in the upcoming JULY MINI SESSION?  Yep, a super fun 3D project with these cute little critters that you won’t want to miss!  How about a sneak peek……..

Now, how about a cute birthday card idea with this set??

Foxy Friends becreativwithnicole.com

So fun, right??!!  It was easy to put together since there is also a coordinating designer paper!  And this A LITTLE FOXY Designer Series Paper is so cute you really need to get all three products to create with.

Foxy Friends by becreativewithnicole

I added in a couple of different greetings to make this work.  The first is the die cut “happy” from HELLO YOU THINLITS.  I used Basic Gray cardstock for the die cut so it would stand out against the polka dot paper.  The fun little banner was a sentiment from the hostess set TIME OF YEAR.  I love that the banners in this set coordinate with the BUNCH OF BANNERS Framelits. It’s nice to have a crisp clean look without any fussy cutting!

Foxy Friends becreativwithnicole.com

As always the envelope coordinates.  I also stamped the inside so this card is ready to go for the next birthday.

Don’t forget to check out the information about the JULY MINI SESSION.  We have a special offer for you if you sign up for the August Session as well, you get a BONUS PROJECT!  You won’t want to miss this!!

Sweet Sugarplum

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring the NEW IN COLORS!!  This week is SWEET SUGARPLUM and it’s as sweet as it’s name!

This card was actually created without today’s color and blog hop in mind.  I was experimenting with the SHOOTING STAR BUNDLE and the gorgeous new BLOOMS AND BLISS DSP and this card pretty much made itself!  I was going to post it one day last week then I realized it would be better to save it for the SWEET SUGARPLUM blog hop.

Shooting Star Bundle becreativewithnicole.com

Is this just too sweet or what!!!  I added a bit of RICH RAZZLEBERRY as an accent color and love the results!

Shooting Star Bundle

Up close you can see the designer paper underneath the penny slider that was created with the SLIDING STAR FRAMELITS.  It’s full of flowers which is just perfect for the honeybee from SHOOTING STAR.  I also gave the bee a couple of Rich Razzleberry SWIRLY SCRIBBLES FRAMELIT flowers.  The card is really super simple and yet wonderful interactive!

Shooting Star Bundle becreativewithnicole.com

If you haven’t taken a look at the SHOOTING STAR BUNDLE, you so should!! This bundle is just full of possibilities, especially using the slider die cuts for all sorts of other stamp sets!  I actually did this month’s JUNE MINI SESSION card set with this bundle, you can find more details HERE if you want to know more!!

Alright, time for the good stuff…. the supply list so you can make your own interactive SHOOTING STAR slider card.

Flirty Flamingo

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring the NEW IN COLORS!!  FLIRTY FLAMINGO is this week’s color which is quickly becoming a favorite!

I used the new BIGGEST BIRTHDAY EVER Bundle for my card and I have to tell you…..this bundle is TOO.MUCH.FUN!

Biggest Birthday Ever becreativewithnicole

There are endless possibilities for the slice of cake and all the accessories!

Biggest Birthday Ever by becreativewithnicole.com

To showcase FLIRTY FLAMINGO, I kept the colors simple by adding just black and white.  The strips of designer paper along the sides are from the POP OF PINK Specialty DSP.  The stripes add a nice bold touch to the card and makes the pink stand out even more!  The cake itself is all FLIRTY FLAMINGO.  The cute polka dot layers are stamped after the cake was added to the card.  It was easy peasy to line up since the stamps are photopolymer!   The one thing this set doesn’t have it sentiments.  So, I used a nice bold greeting from CONFETTI CELEBRATION. It gave the celebratory look I was going for.  After a few sprinkles (more like a lot!) and sequins the card was done!

Now, let’s get to the good stuff, the supply list so you can make your own BIGGEST BIRTHDAY EVER card.

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:   Biggest Birthday Ever, Confetti Celebration

INKS: Flirty Flamingo, Archival Black

PAPER: Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP

Guess what time it is??  Time for the JUNE MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary!  Yep, we’ve been hard at work putting together tutorials for you with NEW STAMPS!!  Woo Hoo….new stamps, new ideas…what’s not to love!  How about a sneak peek…love sneak peeks!
