Candy Cane Treats

I’ve got a quick treat for you today that is easy and FUN!  It also gives another use for the MINI TREAT BAG THINLIT.

half size mini treat bags becreativewithnicole

I told you these were fun!  This is a great way to give a small gift to teachers, mail carriers, etc.

wreath candy cane

I used the smaller die from the treat bag and cut out two to adhere together to create the pocket for the candy cane.  To make it a little fancier, I cut a 2″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White and punched a tag at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

This long tag is a great place to write “to and from” for your gift.  It also secures the candy cane in the pocket.  I used a couple of glue dots to adhere the candy cane to the tag and added gold ribbon to the top.

If you are looking for a treat idea, this is the way to go!  There are so many ways to embellish and lots of great designer paper patterns to choose from!

Winter Wonderland

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about Christmas!  Are you ready yet?  I’m not…….I’m still in disbelief that it’s December so I am excited to see the ideas the team has for us today!

creation station hop header

One of my favorite sets in the catalog is WONDERLAND.  I love the elegant design and that it’s not just for Christmas.  For today, I combined it with the coordinating WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK to create a card and set of vellum gift tags.

Winter Wonderland by becreativewithnicole.com

I started out with the idea to use the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK for a mini treat bag to fill with tags.

Mini Treat Bag by becreativewithnicole.com

The pine cone vellum is my favorite design, so I created the MINI TREAT BAG with it.  A couple of simple embellishments were just the right touch.  Sometimes less is more!

Vellum tags by becreativewithnicole.com

Next, I punched five different designs of vellum with the SCALLOPED TAG TOPPER PUNCH.

Sleigh Ride Tags by becreativewithnicole.com

I tried to keep each of the tags simple and coordinated.  So in comes the SLEIGH RIDE EDGELITS and CHRISTMAS GREETINGS THINLITS.  The two work so well together and made the tags come together easily.

Wonderland by becreativewithnicole.com

I think this set of tags would make a lovely gift, so I made a card to give with it.  I did another version of the BOKEH CARD from a few weeks ago.  This time I used gold accents to coordinate with the tags and added in a SNOWFLAKE ELEMENT.

Bokeh technique becreativewithnicole.com

For this subtle bokeh effect, I brayered Smokey Slate on Whisper White then added in Whisper White craft ink for the circles.  I used the same template I made for the first card.  Just take a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of scrap cardstock and punch different sizes of circles to use for sponging.  To blend it all in, I went over the whole piece again with the brayer.  This gives a soft and finished look.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my ideas and are ready to dive into your WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK!  Now it’s time to head over to Julie Beltramo to see what she’s done for Christmas today.

Cuppa Hot Chocolate

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas gifts or favors!  Lots of ideas for gifts to give out to teachers, friends and anyone else that needs to be appreciated at this time of year.

I pulled out my envelope board and created a couple of hot chocolate gifts that are easy to make and would be loved by anyone.

Envelope Board Hot Chocolate Gifts

Aren’t these great!!  Best part, they are very easy to make so you can have lots to hand out!

packet one

To make these all you need is some designer paper and an envelope punch board.  Cut the paper 6 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and follow the directions for the 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ envelope on the punch board.  So your first score mark is at 3″ then just rotate the paper and line up with the score lines.  Once your scoring is done.  Fold up 3 flaps and cut off the last one which will be one of the shorter sides.

packet 2

Add a belly band and embellish!  I used the GORGEOUS red foil paper and added a fun falala to the band.  The contrast of the Mossy Meadow band and the red foil is simply beautiful!  I listed the supplies below so you give these fun little hot chocolate packets a try for yourself!

SUPPLIES:

PAPER:  Home for Christmas DSP, Mossy Meadow, Red Foil

DIE CUTS/EMBOSSING FOLDERS: Gently Falling EF, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

ACCESSORIES:  Envelope Punch Board, Tear Tape, Fine Tip Glue Pen

More Paper Pumpkin

How about one more alternate idea for the week?  I sat down with the November My Paper Pumpkin and a few left overs from cards this week and came up with this.

November Paper Pumpkin alternate

A very simple design that was SO easy to do since all the pieces were already there for me!

MPP close up

I used the card base and Cherry Cobbler paper from the kit and added in a couple of die cuts from Sleigh Ride and Christmas Greetings thinlits.  Even the gold shimmer star was already done…the card took about 7 minutes which is awesome!

Guess what else is awesome……the DECEMBER MINI SESSION!  We have put together some great tutorials for you which will include NEW OCCASIONS PRODUCTS!

November My Paper Pumpkin

I got a chance to dive into the November My Paper Pumpkin and have a slightly different version to share with you today.

November MPP becreativewithnicole.com

I love how festive the colors are, the Cherry Cobbler envelope is a beautiful compliment to the card.

MPP November

For this first card, I went with the original layout for this particular design, just changed up the sentiment.  Since there wasn’t as much color in the center as the original, I added a Cherry Cobbler matting.  The best part about these kits is how simple they make it for you!  The holly leaves are die cut, just pop them out and add them to the card.  And they think of everything, there were tiny little dimensionals that fit the holly leaves perfectly!

MPP becreativewithnicole.com

This kit was a fun way to jump back into stamping after a week of moving, it helped get my mojo going!  I’m going to sit down again with the November My Paper Pumpkin and see what else I can come up with, so check back this week for more ideas!  If you haven’t given this great way to stamp a try, I ask you WHY NOT??  It’s so nice to sit and just create, all the supplies and ideas are already there for you.  To sign up and give it a try, just click HERE.

Fireside Christmas

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards, anything we choose!

create blog hop badge

This week’s challenge actually gave me a chance to use a set that I fell in love with right away but have hardly used!

Fireside by becreativewithnicole.com

I just love the idea of a cozy Christmas by the fire so Festive Fireplace was on my radar as soon as the Holiday Catalog came out.

fireside

For this card, classic colors worked best.  Cherry Cobbler for the fire place and Garden Green on the mantle create a classic Christmas scene.

Festive Fireplace by becreativewithnicole.com

With a focal point as bold as this fireplace, a greeting that could stand out was needed.  In comes the Expressions Natural Elements.  The wood tone was a perfect compliment to the crackling fire.  So many ways to use this set, I look forward to exploring them all!  You can check out the supply list below for more information on how this card was created.

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  Festive Fireplace, Watercolor Wash

PAPER:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Whisper White

INKS:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand (background stamping), Crumb Cake (logs), Hello Honey (fire) So Saffron (fire)

DIE CUTS:  Hearth and Home Framelits, Festive Fireside Framelits

ACCESSORIES:  Blender Pen (coloring fire/logs), Expressions Natural Elements, Dimensionals, SNAIL

Sparkly Season Flip Card

I love this particular die cut set, but I don’t use it nearly enough!

Sparkly Seasons Snowman Flip Card becreativewithnicole.com

It’s the flip card die!  This is such a fun way to give a wow factor without having to spend too much time.  The flip card die cut does all the work for you, embellishing is all you need to worry about.

flip card

I think that the Sparkly Seasons snow globe concept is a perfect fit here, don’t you??  I was able to fit the snowman perfectly on the front of the flip and the sentiment inside.

Sparkly Season snowman

A few little details give the card more life.  A bit of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the sentiment give a little sparkle and embossing gives more dimension.

snowman flip

This is just one great way to use Sparkly Seasons……this set is full of fun!  I have another great sample with this set that you can check out HERE if you missed it.

Reason for the Season

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using traditional RED AND GREEN.

create blog hop badge

For a card with traditional colors I went immediately to Reason for the Season.

Reason for the Season becreativewithnicole.com

You think I did enough red and green?!  I have lots going on with this card.  Not only does it have embossing and designer paper, it has a special fold!

Reason for the Season Easel Card becreativewithnicole.com

Yep, it’s an easel card so the recipient can show it off after you send it.  And it mails easily so you can WOW whomever you choose!

Reason for the season easel card

Only two colors of ink were needed, Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.   A few pearls and the card is done.  The longest part of the process was fussy cutting the flowers, but they really didn’t take much time at all!

sentiment

I added in a sentiment from Holly Jolly Greetings to prop up the front.  I love this set, the greetings can be used in so many ways!

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  Reason for the Season, Holly Jolly Greetings

PAPER:  Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Merry Moments DSP

INKS:  Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler
