Inspiring New Cling Stamps!

The new Occasions Catalog not only brings amazing products to create with, but an easier way to do it!!  It’s the new CLING STAMPS that make stamping with red rubber easier!  All of the clear block rubber stamps that I’ve gotten over the last few years have never had the stickers added.  I found that the stickers kept the stamps from staying on the clear block.  Well those days are over!  Stampin’ Up! has introduced new CLING STAMPS that stay on the block with the stickers on!  They have started out with quite a few of the new stamps having this cling sticker and I am super excited about it.  I tried out one of the stamps and have a card and tip to share with you.

This card uses the Sale-a-Bration set called PART OF MY STORY.   I loved the sentiments in this set immediately, very sweet and very useful!  With this set having the new cling stickers, I thought I’d show you how I use mine.  The stickers are quite tacky, so getting them off the block without damage is paramount.  So, here is the trick I use.

As you can see, the stamp set on the left side of the picture shows a little bit of washi tape on the edge of each stamp.  The stamp can cling to the clear block and the washi gives you a little place to easily take hold of the stamp and peel it off.  I was able to stamp and clean the stamp easily without any movement on the block.  This really works!

The image stamped beautifully, nice and crisp!  The card also features All My Love DSP, the awesome Tufted Embossing Folder and the tiny flowers from the Well Written Framelits.  I love to mix and match with different stamps sets, die cuts and designer paper.  As always Stampin’ Up! makes it easy to coordinate and create beautiful projects.

Ring in the New

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is RING IN THE NEW.

Hard to believe that 2016 is ending!  This year has flown by and been quite a whirlwind!  To welcome in 2017, I used IT’S A CELEBRATION from the Holiday Catalog.

its-a-celebration-becreativewithnicole-com

I added a pop of pink after being inspired by the POP OF PINK DSP and WASHI TAPE.  To bring in the pink I went with a Melon Mambo card base and added in a bit of embossing to add extra pizazz.  The sparkler is heat embossed in black then the “sparkle” is embossed over top in silver.  A couple of sequins from the FANCY FROST SEQUINS and a little WASHI TAPE and the card is all set!

My supply list is below so you can give this a try!

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  It’s a Celebration, Labeler Alphabet

INKS:  Versa Mark

PAPER:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo

ACCESSORIES:   Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape, Fancy Frost Sequins, Embossing Buddy, Silver Embossing Powder, Black embossing powder, Heat tool,  Stampin’ Trimmer, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, SNAIL, Mini Glue Dots

Marquee Messages by becreativewithnicole

This set is perfect with the new designer paper called POP OF PINK.  Lots of bold and sassy designs give you tons of options!  I used a fun black and white pattern with Melon Mambo paper and ink.  There is also a great set of washi tape that coordinates called POP OF PINK DESIGNER WASHI.  I added in the pink striped design of the washi for a nice little contrast.

Marquee Messages

Did you notice all the bling??  The marquee sign is glammed up with lots of RHINESTONES!  The small ones are just the right size.  I also added SILVER FOIL for the starburst on the sides of the sentiment.  Just another small way to take it up a notch!

Marquee Messges

Birthday Blooms for #GDP028

Happy Easter!  Today I have a really quick share for you.  I have one more card for this week’s challenge from the Global Design Project.  I used my favorite stamp set BIRTHDAY BLOOMS.

Birthday Blooms #GDP028 becreativewithnicole

I had already made a card for the challenge using Picture Perfect, but I needed inspiration for a birthday card.  So this challenge was the perfect motivation for me!  I have made tons of cards with BIRTHDAY BLOOMS for the Luv2Stamp Group.  As I am nearing the end of my list of birthdays, I am seriously running out of ideas!  One look at the layout of this week’s challenge and I knew exactly what I wanted to make!

GDP028 Jess Williams CASE

I used a similar layout and color palette.  But this time I used washi tape as one of my design elements.

I love the bold black and white stripes with Calypso Coral!  I used alcohol markers to color the flowers then added a birthday sentiment.

Birthday Blooms becreativewithnicole

I just love how the coral pops with the bit of black and the soft Sahara Sand card base.  This turned out better than I expected…love when that happens!!

Wonderland Flat Shaker

I’ve been away for a week, sorry I haven’t shared any ideas with you.  We just moved to a new house after living at the previous house for over ten years.  Do you know how much stuff a family of 5 can collect in that amount of time??  A LOT!!  We are exhausted but glad to be settling into our new home.  Things are still chaotic, but I am SO READY to get back to stamping and sharing!!

Here’s a fun card I made before all the moving started, it’s with my favorite set WONDERLAND.

Wondeand Flat Shaker becreativewithnicole.com

I just love these flat shakers!  It’s hard to see in the picture, but there are trees stamped behind the vellum.  I wanted a winter woods effect with the sequins acting like snowflakes.  I even threw in a few of the snowflakes from last year’s holiday catalog because they were a perfect fit.

Wonderland

Since the trees in the background are harder to see, I added a couple tree tops to the vellum.  I love that they match perfectly with the washi tape……Mossy Meadow is such a lovely color for pine trees!

Wonderland Flat Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

I added a couple of sequins to the front of the card as well.  They matched nicely with the silver embossed sentiment.  I don’t think I can get enough of silver embossing and sequins this holiday season!

Creation Station Blog Hop: Thankful

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This is my first month on the team and I am super excited to be a part of this AWESOME group of stampers!

creation station hop header

We are using fall sets this month with a THANKFUL theme and our feature product is WASHI TAPE.

I don’t know about you, but I hoard washi tape just like I hoard designer paper.  It’s been an ongoing process, but I am making an effort to use up (gasp!) the consumable supplies that I buy.  So, today I have used TONS of washi tape to show you how easy it is to actually use the fun accessories that you buy!

A about Washi by becreativewithnicole.com

I started out with a bunch of washi tape on my desk and thought about what kinds of fun little gifts I could make with things in my craft room.  So I dug through my drawers and came up with some coasters and tea candles.

washi coasters and tea lights

Using four colors of washi, I glammed up the plain goodies that I dug up.  The coasters are so quick to make, just apply strips of washi that overlap to the back.  I added self adhesive felt to the backs of the coasters for a nice finished look.  The tea candles were even easier, just a quick strip of washi around each then tucked them into a little ice cream dish for packaging.

washi gifts by becreativewithnicole.com

I placed all four coasters plus the tea candles in the dish into a gusseted cellophane bag and added some ribbon and a tag.  Once all the goodies were complete, I moved onto a card to give with them.  Funny enough, the card took more thinking than the gifts!  I wanted to do something different and have it coordinate with the gifts.  So, I ended up going clean and simple with a strip of each color of washi tape with a sentiment tucked in between.

So Grateful for You by becreativewithnicole.com

I went with Blackberry Bliss as the color for my sentiment and card base.  I love this new In Color, it’s so rich and beautiful!  With the other beautiful washi tapes, it makes this simple card really stand out!  I added in a little bling with a few gold sequins scattered over the card, gotta have my sequins!  And of course I coordinated the envelope, but not with a stamp, I added washi!

Grateful for Washi becreativewithnicole.com

I hope you’ve enjoyed my ideas and are ready to break out all of your washi stash!  Now it’s time to head over to Jennifer Downey to see what she’s done with washi and the thankful theme today.

Washi Tape Gifts

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring FALL GIFTS.

create blog hop badge

I went a little crazy and made a bunch of WASHI TAPE LEAVES which I used to embellish my gifts.

Washi Tape gifts by becreativewithnicole.com

I just LOVE all the color in these gifts!  A little washi tape can go a long way in adding color and fun to your projects.

Washi tapeleaf by becreativewithnicole.com

Just add strips of washi to a piece of cardstock in any design you like.  Then simply die cut a leaf or any other shape, easy peasy!!!

Washi leaf by becreativewithnicole.com

This first leaf was the perfect embellishment for my half size MINI TREAT BAG.  I layered on a bit of gold cording then added the leaf with dimensionals.  I also added in a sentiment by die cutting “grateful” from the Seasonal Frames Thinlets set.  I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock, it stands out quite nicely from all of the colorful washi tape.

Washi leaves by becreativewithnicole.com

I could have stopped with the treat bag, it’s very cute on it’s own.  But theses leaves are so easy to make, I just kept going!  I ended up with three more leaves, all different shapes.  As with the clips I shared earlier in the week, I simply added washi tape to the clothespin then adhered the leaves with dimensionals.  There are TONS of great ways to use these clips!  I was thinking you could make a nice little place setting with these for the holidays.   Just add a sentiment or the person’s name and clip it to a fancy folded napkin.  I’d love for you to share some ideas you have, just leave me a comment and I’ll try some out!  Now, how about a quick list of supplies so you can give these gifts a try for yourself!

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  For All Things
