Cozy Christmas

I have a really fun shaker for you today!  I made a cozy little snow globe with Cozy Christmas.

Bet you didn’t expect these colors for a Christmas shaker card!  I know it’s a little unusual, but I think it works.  Guess where I got this color combo?? Yep, it’s from Create with Connie and Mary!

I love being able to use black glimmer paper for something other than Halloween, so that’s how this card got started!  I pulled out my glimmer paper and the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  The black stripes look amazing with the black glimmer.

I kept the center of the card neutral with Smokey Slate which makes the bold red glimmer sentiment really pop.

I couldn’t resist adding in a few silver sequins, I figured the card could handle just a little more bling!  Lots of glimmer today for this fun shaker with non-traditional colors.  I didn’t have Cozy Christmas on my radar at first, but I am so glad I bought it!  That’s it for me today, see you Saturday for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Peace and Blackberry Bliss

Have I told you how much I love Blackberry Bliss??  Well I do!!  So I have several cards coming up in the next two weeks featuring this gorgeous color. Today’s card is a quick one layer beauty.

Peace ad Joy by becreativewithnicole.com

Just because a card is one layer doesn’t mean it has to be boring, this one certainly isn’t!  The richness of the Blackberry Bliss gives a real wow factor along with the bit of bling from the silver glimmer sentiment.  Guess where I got the design idea….

Let’s take one more look at the card for today plus a run down of the supplies.

Peace and Joy

To create this simple look, I first sponged a Blackberry Bliss circle.  I used a negative from where I die cut a circle for a previous project.  It happened to be handy on my desk so I ran with it!  I added in two snowflakes, one with Razzleberry ink and the other with Blackberry Bliss.  Lastly, I added Wisteria Wonder stars and dots, stamping off once to make it nice and light.  To re-create this quick card for yourself, check out the supply list below.

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  Holly Jolly Greetings

INKS:  Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder

PAPER:  Thick Whisper White, Silver Glimmer

ACCESSORIES:  Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Circle Framelits, Metallic Sequins, Stampin’ Sponge

Non-Traditional Colors

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using NON-TRADITIONAL COLORS.

I went with a pastel look using the oh so fabulous SLEIGH RIDE EDGELITS.

Sleigh ride Edgelits becreativewithnicole.com

I love the crisp and clean look that the die cuts give this card.  And of course the best part is how easy this came together using the Big Shot.

All is calm close up

In all, there are four layers of paper that make this card so soft and pretty.  I actually started out with the Pink Pirouette base and then added in more colors as the card came together.

Soft Sky was next, embossed with the Gently Falling EF.  I am SO very glad I got this one, it makes for a beautiful background.

Lastly came the layers die cut the the Sleigh Ride Edgelits.  This is such a COOL set of dies!  The layers look amazing together and you can use them so many ways!  The first layer is the trees in Pear Pizazz then the house layer in Tip Top Taupe.  I did just a tiny bit of stamping to add the sentiment that came from Wonderland.  I think it went beautifully with this card.

A few Dazzling Diamonds glimmer stars add the finishing touch along with a stamped envelope.  I love this card so much I may have to do it in a bunch of other color combos to use for my cards this year!

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  Wonderland

PAPER:  Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzaz, Tip Top Taupe, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer

INKS:  Soft Suede

DIE CUTS/EMBOSSING FOLDERS: Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Gently Falling EF

ACCESSORIES:  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (star), Dimensionals, SNAIL, Tombow

A Blackberry Bliss Wonderland

I have fallen in love with WONDERLAND in the Holiday Catalog.  You can do so many GORGEOUS cards with this stamp set!

Wonderland by becreativewithnicole.com

See what I mean!  And even better is the fact that this card was pretty simple to make!  It actually has a couple of techniques that come together for the WOW factor.

Blackberry Bliss Wonderland

It all started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock if you can believe that!  I brayered on Blackberry Bliss ink with it being darker at the bottom and lighter at the top.  Once I was happy with how the ink looked, I stamped the trees with Black Archival ink.

Wonderland

I added in some of the beautiful WINTER WONDERLAND DESIGNER VELLUM and a couple of banners.  The Silver Foil banner has “Silent Night” embossed in silver for a lovely effect.  Before I forget, let me show you where the inspiration for this card came from.

Sketch 4TST

I used the sketch challenge from Try Stampin’ -or not- on Tuesday.  Now the vellum and banners will make more sense!

Wonderland in Blackberry Bliss by becreativewithnicole.com

Looking at the whole card again, you can see that I added more silver embossing to continue the sentiment in the lower right corner.  And as always there are sequins on this card, but you aren’t surprised!

So this card may look super difficult, but it’s really not!  If you are interested in seeing how I did this, let me know and maybe I’ll put together a quick video.

To find out more about this sketch challenge, visit Try Stampin’ -or not- on Tuesday where you’ll see more beautiful card samples from the Design Team.

Come back tomorrow for more samples from the October My Paper Pumpkin kit, I have 2 beautiful cards to share!

Snowman in Red and White

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are starting to feature Christmas cards with today being all about RED AND WHITE.

create blog hop badge

I went with a cute little snowman in a red and white striped scarf and hat.

Sparkly Seasons Snowman by becreativewithnicole.com

It’s a clean and simple card that makes me smile just like the sweet snowman!

Sparkly Snowmand by becreativewithnicole.com

I colored the hat and scarf with my Real Red marker and added a Pumpkin Pie nose.  For a bit of sparkle, I added Dazzling Details to the trim out the hat.

Sparkly Seasons Sparkly Snowman by becreativewithnicole.com

In keeping with the red and white theme, the card base is Real Red and so is the base of the snow globe.  I stamped the outline of the globe in Sahara Sand so the snowman would be the main focus. The white layer is embossed with the fun Gently Falling EF to give dimension to the card.  I originally thought that I wouldn’t buy this particular embossing folder, but I caved after seeing all the pretty cards that feature it!

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS:  Sparkly Seasons

PAPER:  Real Red, Whisper White

INKS:  Archival Black, Sahara Sand

MARKERS: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie

DIE CUTS: Seasonal Frame Thinlits

ACCESSORIES:  Gently Falling EF, Metallic Sequin Assortment, Dazzling Details, SNAIL, Tombow
