A floral card was the first thought I had when seeing these colors. So I went back to REASON FOR THE SEASON to see how the colors worked on the poinsettia.
I ended up doing the outline of the flower in Watermelon Wonder and added color to the petals with Calypso Coral stamped off once. Blushing Bride made a lovely background with the Watercolor Wash background stamp.
Since we have Blushing Bride sequins, I had to add a few in plus a bit of gold thread. I think they added the finishing touch the card needed. As far as the greeting goes, I went with my favorite set for sentiments, COTTAGE GREETINGS in Watermelon Wonder. I love the end result, a very pretty wedding card! So now you have TWO card ideas from me to use REASON FOR THE SEASON for something other than Christmas! If you don’t remember the first, you can check it out HERE.
Let’s take a break from Halloween today and talk technique! I want to show another card using the WOODLAND EMBOSSING FOLDER to add color and dimension to you cards.
Isn’t this gorgeous! The colors are subtle but give lots of dimension to the card. But before I get to the details, I got my inspiration from the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.
This sketch has so many possibilities! I went in a masculine direction so I could show you how versatile the embossing folders can be.

Can you tell by now that I am really loving LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES?? I usually do lots of Halloween and just a few fall cards, but I can’t help myself when it comes to this gorgeous new leaf set!
As you can see, I went super clean and simple with this one. I am really loving this type of crisp and clean card! The inspiration came from the sketch challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary.
Instead of adding images that were cut out, I just kept it clean by stamping directly on the card base.
It’s a little difficult to see in the pictures, but I used Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso for the leaves. I alternated the color and the direction of the leaves to make a simple pattern. The greeting needed to be simple as well and a banner in Old Olive did the trick.
I did add one little extra to my card, GOLD SEQUINS. I just can’t help it, I love the look and sparkle of these little guys! And that’s it! A crisp and clean card perfect for fall!!
I went seriously clean and simple for today’s card. I love the crispness it has!
Told ya it was simple! I don’t usually go THIS simple, but this works!
The inspiration for this card was two fold. First, I wanted a simple card to send a nice note to my Aunt. With it being the end of summer and lots of gardening is still going on, I planned on using GIFT FROM THE GARDEN. But, I need a little more of a push, so the second bit of inspiration came from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.
Not much explaining that needs to be done with this, huh! The boots look so pretty in Watermelon Wonder with small Pool Party Flowers. I used the TREE BUILDER PUNCH for that sweet little flower, it’s nice to have a tiny flower to use for accents!
Ok, before I go, I wanted to remind you of the August Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary. There are 5 AWESOME projects ready to go for you, including two 3D and three card sets….all for only $8.95!! It’s quite a deal and I hope you’ll join us! I am taking a quick break from Halloween today and showing off a SUPER CUTE fall set called THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS.
I loved this set as soon as I saw it, the sweet little animals make me smile!
I combined several new products from the upcoming Holiday catalog, it’s wonderful how everything coordinates! The card base is embossed with the gorgeous WOODLAND embossing folder and the banners are from INTO THE WOODS Designer Series Paper.
With this fun sketch I had my card put together in no time! The bear in place of the oval was my first thought and the rest just fell into place!
I have lots of plans for this sweet set, so make sure you stop back! In the meantime, are you in need of inspiration for cards and projects where all the work is done and you just get to stamp???
Well, Create with Connie and Mary have come up with monthly Mini Sessions that give you 5 full tutorials to get you creating for only $8.95!! Yep, it’s a steal and something you don’t want to miss out on! The August session just went live and it’s AWESOME! So why not give it a try and see what you think!
Thanks for stamping with me today! Stop back tomorrow, I have a fun Halloween shaker for you!
I love creating fun little treats and Halloween is a great excuse! There’s a super fun new bundle in the upcoming Holiday Catalog that is perfect for treats and all things Halloween.
Is this cute or what!! Howl-o-ween Treats has bold images with matching framelits that give lots of options for Halloween creations. I paired it with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit and a few bright bold colors.
The Tangerine Tango Mini Treat Bag was embossed with Large Polka Dots then just a few simple elements were added. A bold sentiment and hat from Howl-o-ween and a couple of Black Glimmer Paper stars. The simple design makes it easy to create these in volume to give out to excited trick or treaters!
The bag is loaded with fun Halloween goodies that any kids would love!
To make the treats easy for the kids to take home, its packaged up in a cello bag. The little activity book is a tiny bit too big to fit in the Mini Treat Bag, but fits perfectly behind it in a cello!
I just LOVE this fun treat idea and can’t wait to explore more color options and design ideas!
These colors are so soft and pretty, perfect for a floral butterfly!
The Sahara Sand butterfly allows the Perfect Plum roses to really stand out! To add a little interest, a bit of Gold Metallic thread was placed behind the butterfly and a few White Perfect Accents make up the body.
To keep the background subtle, I stamped small roses and leaves behind the butterfly. I stamped off at least once or twice for each rose. A simple sentiment and a few gold sequins complete the card! I love sitting down to create and having something beautiful in just 10 or 15 minutes!
