Holly Jolly Greetings

I’ve gone clean and simple today with a card featuring the HOLLY JOLLY GREETINGS BUNDLE.

Sometimes simple is just the way to go!

Holly Jolly Greetings becreativewithnicole.com

For inspiration, I used the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC386

They have a two week color challenge that I just couldn’t resist!  I am really into using unusual colors for Christmas and Basic Black is one of my favorites to use.

peace

Even though the card is simple it still has sparkle and shine!  I heat embossed the snowflake for some shine.  Then I added in a gold glimmer paper die cut for some sparkle.  I also added in a few random gold sequins because as you know I believe sequins make everything look better!  And that’s it!  An easy peasy but still happy and sparkly Christmas card!

Sky is the Limit

I’m taking a quick break from Christmas cards to share a Sale-a-bration sneak peek with you!

Sky is the Limit by becreativewithnicole.com

It’s so fun to get new stamps!  My pre-order (a perk of being a demo!) came yesterday so there was no way I could make a Christmas card with these beauties on my desk.  I went with a clean and simple card using the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC385

I thought of the airplane and cloud from SKY IS THE LIMIT right away when I saw the layout of the flowers.  It ended up working out quite nicely!

Sale-a-bration 2015

I tried out a design from one of the new designer papers as well, but it blended with the Tempting Turquoise base.  So I looked at the left over pile on my desk and a strip of WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM jumped out at me.  It made the perfect edition and kept the card clean with just the three colors.

Now that I have new goodies, I will start bringing you more sneak peeks along with Christmas ideas this month. Tomorrow stop back to see the second set of wine bottle tags that I made with Reason for the Season, they turned out so beautiful!

Reason for the Season

I’m going clean and simple today with REASON FOR THE SEASON.  I was looking to make a card that would be easy to replicate for my holiday cards to send out this year.  I think this one will fit the bill, elegant yet simple.

Reason for the Season becreativewithnicole.com

The color for the card base is a a fun twist, gray isn’t usually a color that ends up in my holiday cards, but I think it really works!  Guess where I got the idea….

CCMC384

Yep, the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge!  I love the idea of using unusual colors for holiday cards, so this was a great opportunity to take advantage of that.

poinsettia

The Smokey Slate base gives the poinsettia a chance to really stand out. After I stamped the flower outline and extra color for the petals, I added more color with my blender pen and ink pad.  I love how the shading is with the combo of the two.

Reason for the Season

I also added a little texture with the Gently Falling embossing folder.  I love the contrast with the crisp white circle and black ink sentiment.  Now I just need to make about 20 more and fill them all out to mail!

Cozy Christmas

I have a really fun shaker for you today!  I made a cozy little snow globe with Cozy Christmas.

Cozy Christmas becreativewithnicole.com

Bet you didn’t expect these colors for a Christmas shaker card!  I know it’s a little unusual, but I think it works.  Guess where I got this color combo?? Yep, it’s from Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC380

I love being able to use black glimmer paper for something other than Halloween, so that’s how this card got started!  I pulled out my glimmer paper and the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  The black stripes look amazing with the black glimmer.

Cozy christmas shaker

I kept the center of the card neutral with Smokey Slate which makes the bold red glimmer sentiment really pop.

Cozy Christmas Shaker becreativewithnicole.com

I couldn’t resist adding in a few silver sequins, I figured the card could handle just a little more bling!  Lots of glimmer today for this fun shaker with non-traditional colors.  I didn’t have Cozy Christmas on my radar at first, but I am so glad I bought it!  That’s it for me today, see you Saturday for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Peace and Blackberry Bliss

Have I told you how much I love Blackberry Bliss??  Well I do!!  So I have several cards coming up in the next two weeks featuring this gorgeous color. Today’s card is a quick one layer beauty.

Peace ad Joy by becreativewithnicole.com

Just because a card is one layer doesn’t mean it has to be boring, this one certainly isn’t!  The richness of the Blackberry Bliss gives a real wow factor along with the bit of bling from the silver glimmer sentiment.  Guess where I got the design idea….

CCMC379

Yep, another card for the Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!  I loved this week’s sketch so much I made TWO cards!  If you missed the first, you can check it out HERE.

Autumn Wishes

Today’s card has a lot of texture, but was quite easy to put together.

Woodland EF becreativewithnicole.com

With just one element stamped, the card is mostly constructed using the Big Shot.  Before we get the the nitty gritty of the card, let me show you the inspiration for it.

CCMC378

The Thursday challenge from Create with Connie and Mary has some great fall colors this week.  When looking at them, the Among the Branches Bundle stood out to me.

Autumn Wishes with woodland ef

The Soft Suede base embossed with the Woodland EF is a perfect background for fall leaves.  I did one in gold and one in Mossy Meadow.  Over top I added in the sentiment and a bit of linen thread.

Woodland Embossing Folder becreativewithnicole.com

As usual I added in a few sequins and stamped the envelope to compete the card.

Stop back tomorrow for my first Christmas card of the season.  I have been a busy little bee making Christmas cards that I can’t wait to share!

FaBOOlous Sparkly Season

There’s a great stamp set that you may not have noticed, the hostess set called SIX SAYINGS on the last page of the Holiday Catalog.  It has six greetings that give you year round variety, so it’s quite handy!  I am sharing a card today that uses a very fun sentiment for Halloween.

Sparkly Season by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn’t this just too FaBOOlous!  This particular greeting is what sold me on this set, it’s just so fun!

Sparkly Season Pumpkin

I went pretty clean and simple by adding a bit of washi and a pumpkin.  My inspiration for this design came from this week’s sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC377

The first thing I thought of when looking at the sketch was washi, so that was the basis of my card.  I went with Halloween and used the HAPPY HAUNTING designer washi.

Fabulous Sparkly Season by becreativewithnicole.com

The pumpkin was created with a leftover Tangelo Twist circle die cut on my desk.  I added in the chevron design, face and stem from SPARKLY SEASONS which made the jack-o-lantern come to life.  This was such a fun card and it was quick too which I love!!

OCT MINI SESSION

Congrats Bear

Last week I did a fun little fall card featuring the bear from THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS.  I loved the design and a lot of people said it would be a darling baby card.  SO….today I have a baby version for you.

Congrats by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn’t this too cute!  I got my inspiration from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC376

When I saw the colors for this week, I thought it might work for a baby card… the one I was thinking about doing already!

congrats bear becreativewithnicole.com

When looking at the stamps in THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS, I noticed that the stamp with a vine on the top and bottom would make a nice frame for one of the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS.  To create the frame, I masked off the sentiment.

washi coveredA little washi tape covering the words kept that area ink free, just make sure you peel off the washi tape before you stamp!  Here’s my image once the washi was removed.

colored vine only

And now you can see the clear image of the vine only once it’s stamped.

vine only stamped

This is a great way to get more out of your stamps!
