A Nice Pot of Tea

Another challenge we had for the Creative Crew this month was to make a card with a positive /negative design.  Can you guess what I made……..

Teariffic by becreativewithnicole.com

If you guessed a shaker you were right!  It’s been awhile since I’ve made a shaker so this was the first thing that came to mind!  A Nice Cuppa and the coordinating Cups & Kettle Framelits made this a tea-riffic shaker card!

tea shaker

I wanted it to look like you were pouring a cup of tea, so I used gold microbeads inside the tea pot.  I also added a few sequins under the spout to look like the tea was pouring out.

This is such a fun stamp and framelit set!  You can get them both for 15% off when you purchase the bundle….isn’t that fantastic!!  They work together beautifully as the framelits have some things that you don’t get in the stamp set.  So many ways to use these!

Just for You

I have a fun little treat for you today featuring another Sale-a-bration set.  This is another must have stamp set, it has so many uses!

just for you becreativewithnicole.com

I whipped up a little treat for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion you want.  It just requires a cupcake liner, a gusseted bag and some candy.  All these items were handy in my kitchen so I had this put together in no time.

Just for you tag becreativewithnicole.com

To decorate by treat bag, I used the new Sale-a-bration set BOTANICALS FOR YOU.  I love this big, bold greeting!  Just stamp and die cut a tag…easy peasy!

Valentine gift becreativewithnicole

Once all the candy was in the bag and the tag was done, I simply tied the bag shut with the lovely Watermelon Dotted Lace Trim.  One thing extra I did add inside the bag was a few hearts for a confetti effect.  I also added a few to the outside of the bag with a couple of dimensionals.  I love the extra bit of color!

Occasions Catalog Favorite

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about the new OCCASIONS CATALOG!  Are you ready for lots of fabulous ideas with NEW STAMPS?  I know I am!  The new catalog goes live January 5th so get your pen and paper ready to make a wish list!

creation station hop header

One of my favorite sets in the Occasions Catalog is PLAYFUL PALS which can be bundled with a set of thinlits called PYRAMID PALS.

Playful Pals bundle becreativewithnicole.com

Is this too cute or what!!  I loved this bundle as soon as I saw it, brings out the kid in me!  I can’t wait to make lots of cute animals and cards!

Playful Pals by becreativewithnicole.com

I started out with a baby card featuring a cute little owl peeking out from behind the sentiment.  The giant “hello” happens to be a favorite of mine from a Sale-a-bration set called HELLO.  It’s a fabulous set to compliment other stamps and is just as fun to use on it’s own.  Here I combined it with “baby” from CELEBRATE TODAY to create a sweet baby sentiment.

Pyramid Pals by becreativewithnicole.com

I couldn’t wait to move onto the thinlits to make this adorable little owl to compliment the card.  Wouldn’t this little guy be the cutest party favor at a baby shower!!  I constructed him leaving one side unsealed so you could tuck some candy inside and open it easily.

I hope I brought out the kid in you today and that you think this duo is as fun and sweet as I do!  Now it’s time to move on and see more favorites from the very talented ladies in this group.  Up next is Sara and I can’t wait to see what’s she’s made!  Be sure to hop all the way around, I know you’ll want to see all of the fabulous ideas!

Pyramid Pals

The new Occasions Catalog is just FULL. OF. GOODNESS!  I am so happy that I can start creating with new products and honestly I don’t know where to start!!  Since Christmas is just a few days away, I went with a Christmas idea I had for a new set of thinlits called PYRAMID PALS.

Christmas Pyramid Pals by becreativewithnicole.com

Are these just too cute or what!!!  The PYRAMID PALS THINLITS have a coordinating stamp set that you can purchase as a bundle and save 15%…woo hoo!

rudolph

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was the first idea to come to mind and is simple to make.  To make the pyramid you need just a half sheet of cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  I cut out 2 pieces of the pyramid and assembled it leaving one side open to add goodies.  His face was super easy to create as well, the mouth was done with a stamp from the coordinating set PLAYFUL PALS and the eyes and nose are done with the circles from the OWL BUILDER PUNCH.

pyramid pal

I made his face on the front and had the back be the side that opens up.  His antlers are part of the die cut set, they are intended to be frog legs but easily changed to antlers with just a few snips with my scissors.

Christmas tree pyramid pal

The tree features another part of the thinlit set, a FRINGE die cut.  YES, I said FRINGE die cut!!  I was able to use the left over parts of the half sheet of paper for these fringe pieces, so making this tree was very frugal!  I adhered the fringe before assembling the pyramid so I could trim it down into the triangle shape.

Tree pyramid

For the back of this one, I added a tag cut from a triangle thinlit in the set and stamped “to” and “from”.  I added a bit of gold cording to tie this one shut to hold goodies for the recipient.

I can’t wait to show you more fun ideas with this amazing bundle.  I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek, there is more to come!

Candy Cane Treats

I’ve got a quick treat for you today that is easy and FUN!  It also gives another use for the MINI TREAT BAG THINLIT.

half size mini treat bags becreativewithnicole

I told you these were fun!  This is a great way to give a small gift to teachers, mail carriers, etc.

wreath candy cane

I used the smaller die from the treat bag and cut out two to adhere together to create the pocket for the candy cane.  To make it a little fancier, I cut a 2″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White and punched a tag at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

candy cane treat

This long tag is a great place to write “to and from” for your gift.  It also secures the candy cane in the pocket.  I used a couple of glue dots to adhere the candy cane to the tag and added gold ribbon to the top.

If you are looking for a treat idea, this is the way to go!  There are so many ways to embellish and lots of great designer paper patterns to choose from!

Blackberry Bliss

I’m back with more Blackberry Bliss beauties this week.  Today’s card is brayered again (my brayer is getting a real workout!) with this gorgeous deep color.  I went crazy for a day and did several cards with the new favorite.  I shared a couple with you already which you can look at again HERE and HERE.  But enough chatting, let’s get to the good stuff!

Sleigh Ride by becreativewithnicole.com

Simple yet elegant, don’t you think??  Once again this card is more about the Big Shot and minimal stamping.

Jingle all the way

Keeping this card simple, I went with just white and Blackberry Bliss.  I love the contrast of the crisp white to the deep, rich blackberry….looks like a snowy night!

Sleigh Ride overview by Becreativewithnicole

A little touch of sparkle with Dazzling Diamond stars was my final touch.  The night sky needed a little twinkle!  Come back tomorrow for another version of this card, the Sleigh Ride thinlits have lots of versatility!

Snowy Wonderland

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using BLUE,WHITE and SILVER.

create blog hop badge

I’m back with another shaker, I thought today’s hop would be perfect for this snowy scene.

Wonderland shaker card by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn’t this wonderful!  I bought a bag full of little snow beads last year and have a ton left to use, so here we go!  The perfect stamp set for this type of card, WONDERLAND.

Wonderland shaker

Here’s a close up of the shaker.  I stamped the trees in Night of Navy then added silver stars and the snow beads.  To dress up the shaker, I gave it a silver glimmer frame.

Wonderland shaker by becreativewithicole.com

For a bit more silver and to continue with the snow theme, I added Winter Wonderland Vellum over Whisper White.  This softness allows the bold silver embossed sentiment to really stand out.  I am so pleased with the silver snowscape, what do you think?

Golden Grateful

There are two beautiful sets of vellum in the catalog, one of which is WINTER WONDERLAND.  It has black, gold and silver tones and is perfect for Christmas and winter cards.  But, I wanted to make a fall card with this lovely vellum and it worked beautifully!

Golden GratefulIsn’t this really rich looking!  Gold is a perfect match with the Soft Suede card base.

Grateful up close

Did you notice that there’s no stamping!!  This card is all about the Big Shot so it came together easily.

The inspiration for this card came from the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC379

I love the simplicity of the design, so many options for your cards!!

Golden Grateful by becreativewithnicole.com

Once my card base was embossed, all I had to do was add a couple layers of vellum plus gold glimmer paper. With all the gold,  I needed a bolder greeting that would stand out.  “Grateful” die cut in Early Espresso did the job quite well.  It was bold enough to stand out, but it still was cohesive.

This would be a lovely card in Christmas colors, you could make a bunch to mail out quite easily.  Check back tomorrow for the last of the October My Paper Pumpkin cards that I made.  Sorry I didn’t get to share them last week as planned, life kinda took over!  See you tomorrow!
